There are various types of vehicle designed to serve food - burger vans, burger trailers, coffee vans, ice cream vans mobile kitchens etc. Jiffy make only one type of truck designed for the operator to serve on the outside of the vehicle. Having focused our attention on this format we have, over the last 30 years, become the largest manufacture of this kind of truck in the UK. We have the largest fleet of support vehicles and the most experienced design team continually developing new ideas and new models.
Jiffy
Trucks are sold directly to the owner we don't
use agents or representatives, we don't handle
the finance and we don't get involved in franchising.
We concentrate on what we are good at, that is
manufacturing our catering vans to provide you
with an efficient business tool. Buying a catering
truck is a big investment and below are some points
that may help you to make the best choice.
Arrange to see a truck before you order, if possible visit the factory check the materials and workmanship.
Make sure that the company you choose to provide your catering vehicle has an established track record. Ask your funds provider or your accountant or insurance agent to check the manufacturers financial standing.
Make sure the catering body is constructed from stainless steel and other non rusting materials and that at the end of its long life most of the components can be recycled.
Check
that the chassis upon which the catering body
is mounted is Type Tested, "chopping down"
a van will negate its certification, only platform
cabs (designed for conversion) and ladder chassis
vehicles can be used.
Make
sure that the company supplying your catering
truck is a member of NCASS (the National
Caterers Association and consider joining yourself.
Reputable manufactures
will only ask for 10% deposit with an order, the
balance to be paid at time of delivery.
Your catering truck is a serious business tool, beware of Arthur Daley type discounting and fancy deals, make sure you know the total cost of your purchase before you pay your deposit.
When you take delivery of your new catering vehicle make sure you see everything working and are confident with the controls. Regular servicing of the main components is essential, it will keep you on the road and retain value in your purchase. |
